Project Number 1160156 Title ABC Waters Project at Hougang Town (Hougang Ave 10) Description Under the Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) Programme, the stretch of canal along Hougang Avenue 10, between Hougang Avenue 4 and Buangkok Drive, will be enhanced with plantings along the edge of the canal to improve the aesthetics of the surrounding landscape so that these can become communal spaces along the waterway which residents can enjoy. At the Punggol Park Community Centre, the existing pedestrian bridge at Blk 458 Hougang Avenue 10 will be reconstructed to a deck over the canal to improve the connectivity between the housing developments and amenities in the vicinity. The deck will also be designed to integrate with the improvements under the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme for this precinct to serve as a communal space for the residents to relax and catch up with each other. In addition, ABC Waters design feature such as a rain garden will be incorporated as part of the design. Besides improving the water quality discharged into the canal, the rain garden also beautifies the surrounding landscape and enhances biodiversity.
