Project Number 1180089 Title ABC Waters Project at Sungei Simpang Kanan Description Under the Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) Programme, greenery will be added to the banks of Sungei Simpang Kanan waterway to improve the aesthetics of the surrounding landscape. Pathways will be introduced along both sides of the canal to improve connectivity between the housing development and the Simpang Kiri park connector. A plaza at Canberra Link will also be added, providing a communal space for the residents to carry out activities next to the waterway. ABC Waters design features, such as rain gardens, will be incorporated along the canal. The rain garden uses specially selected plants and soil media to detain and cleanse rainwater runoff before it is channelled into the canal. Besides improving the water quality of rainwater runoff, the rain garden also beautifies the surrounding landscape and enhances biodiversity.
