Purpose of project
PUB adopts a holistic source-pathway-receptor approach to build flexibility and adaptability in the nation’s drainage system to cope with higher intensity storms. This involves the continual upgrading of drains and canals (or Pathways) enhance flood protection for Singapore.
Scope of work
The current Bedok Canal (between East Coast Parkway and the sea) will be undergoing upgrading work to widen and deepen the canal to increase its drainage capacity.
Current update on progress
The construction area adjoining the canal has been hoarded up for public safety. An alternative jogging and cycling path to reach the other side of the canal is appended below for your perusal.
