Purpose of project
The DTSS is Singapore’s core water infrastructure to support our country’s continued growth. The deep tunnels form the backbone of Singapore’s used water system by collecting and conveying used water to centralised Water Reclamation Plants located at coastal areas. Phase 1 of DTSS, which serves the eastern part of Singapore, was completed in 2008. Phase 2 consisting of networks of Link Sewers and Tunnels will extends the deep tunnels to serve the western part of Singapore.
Scope of work
Design and construction of approximately 10 km of deep tunnel which consists of two stretches, one which runs from Tuas Road the Tuas Water Reclamation Plant (TWRP) site and another stretch which runs from Jalan Buroh/Pioneer Road, generally follows Pioneer Road and Pioneer Sector 1 before passing under Tuas Bay to Shaft Zi in the TWRP site.
